It's been... fun. [02 Jul 2006|12:00am]

[ mood | Tired ]

Random quotes for the last time.Collapse )

Well, goodbye, people.
It is now possible that you will never see me again, because I'm leaving the school. This is probably good news to some of you.
I'm going to miss a lot of you... granted, there are quite a few people that I've considered heartless jerks, but I see no need to give out names or anything. Hopefully, those in the audience can be mature enough not to show themselves as such.
Pointless stuff.Collapse )
In any case, the HGM's really been an experience I won't forget. For better... or for worse.
Of course, I'll be forgotten in an instant, I'm assuming. I never talked much, so I never made much of an imprint. I guess some of you who actually asked me to sign your Annuals will have some vague memory of me, though.

As a farewell to some of you, this is a list of certain people I've come to seriously respect, admire, or just have something to thank them for at this school:

Thank you to...Collapse )
Good bye.

don't forget kids!

Your annual statistical updates [05 Oct 2005|11:12pm]

[ mood | this mood icon looks evil ]

Fun Facts*(please correct if you have more conservative data, I would like all sides to be present here)

1. One in eight Americans falls below the poverty line(34,000,000-37,000,000;
16.something %)
2. More than 2 million Americans are in jail/prison
3. 45,000,000 Americans are without health insurance
4. We use 1/4th of the world's resources, while being 5% of it's population
5. Exxon Mobile, General Motors, and Ford all have more annual revenue than all
but 7 out of 191 national governments
6. Less than 1% of all corporations account for over 80% of the total output of
the private sector
7.Five massive conglomerates control 75% of prime-time television viewers(not
control. Someone give me a better word.)
8.The 400 richest americans were worth $1 trillion in 2004(see number 1)
9.The top 1% of wealth holders control 29.5% of total household wealth, while
the bottom 50% has 5.6%

That's enough for now, eh

Most of the people who believe in evolution are actually ignorant about Darwin 's theory, aka the only one proven scientifically viable, and will describe Lamark's theory when asked about this subject. The (major) differences:

1.Lamark was the one who said that if you don't use it, it goes away. Darwin's theory says this is false.

2.That little changes each generation will be carried on to the next, aka the whole giraffe-stretching-their-neck-little-by-little thing. That is, again, false.

Evolution in the biological sense is not about getting better, it's about change. That's it. And alot of our features are arbitary. If we had a tale we would be without the chronic back problems that plague humanity, but since we evolved from primates, we don't have one.

Wah. Okay.
Table is updated with all the information I currently have.

a) If you're a Shadowy Figure, don't have your name or part of your name up, or aren't listed at all, tell me and I'll put you up.
b) If you're up there, and don't want to be, or don't want your name, or don't want your last name, let me know, and I'll take it down.

c) If you have any more suggestions for interests, let me know. Remember that this list can be seen by anyone who looks at the community, i.e. faculty/administration.

And that being said, can we return to the vibrant conversation that so characterizes this community?

what is everyones first memory of Mr. Toy...and your 'favorite'

ill start. for the first month of school, i thought dr. irani was toy and toy was irani...

my favorite memory of toy was my now infamous essay wherein i called him an asshole and unfair and basically tore apart his entire facade of BS. but i wouldnt advise doing that, since that letter was basically my letter of resignation from the magnet. i already had an inkling that i didnt wanna come back...so...yea.

allow me to introduce myself... [17 Sep 2005|01:53pm]

[ mood | calm ]

Since most of you are quite young and still in high school (whereas I graduated in '01)... you may only know me as Ruwi's older sister.

While I was in the HGM at NH...
I was a member of jazz band (percussionist), took 3 years of Auto Tech, took waaay to many AP classes and on-the-side college courses, was editor of the Annual my senior year (and sort of am the reason that the faculty is SO FREAKIN UPTIGHT about what gets printed in it now), did Clay Day, schooled everybody on the dance floor, and hugged way too many people.

I just received my BA in Law & Society from the UCSB. I am looking for work in the legal field until I figure out the whole law school thing (if your parents can hook it up... please do). I'm currently working as a hip hop dance instructor. There... that's my intro.

[ mood | ... ]

This is an interesting community you have here...
Like most communities, the members have become quite... dead.
And the few who still use it seem to ignore or be ignored other members.

Yeah, these are quotes, oh no. (From intercession with the JACK and JASMINE and ETHAN and, of course, IAN) -WARNING: NOT FOR CHILDREN!Collapse )
Love these people.
*Hugs... something*

...and also talk to me on aim or msn or yahoo or SOMETHING.
Just because I act like a dead person (IRL) doesn't mean I actually am.

have you heard about this yet? [13 Sep 2005|07:59pm]

As of the 2005-06 year, students will no longer be able to take the following exam combinations for a single fee:

* Macroeconomics and Microeconomics
* Comparative Government and Politics and United States Government and Politics
* Latin Literature and Latin: Vergil
* Physics C: Mechanics and Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism

All exams must be paid for and ordered separately.
